Waiting on Bids... Andy Patton has contacted chapters in the past few weeks to find out how they are doing beyond the numbers of recruitment. We have found that many chapters have already signed new members, but have not completed the ICS bidding process. IFC/Greek Affairs does not recognize recruits as new members until the ICS bid is accepted. The ICS bid process is not optional and bids should be processed as recruits accept membership.
Below are a few reason for why bids should be completed in immediatly when a recruit accepts a bid. 1) It provides IFC and Greek Affairs with a clear picture of our recruitment progress and helps us accurately identify chapter that are in need of assistance. 2) It allows IFC/ Greek Affairs to effectively communicate progress with community stakeholders such as chapter alumni, undergraduates, and university administration. 3) It is easy, you can do it from your couch, and takes only a few minutes to complete. There is no excuse for not processing your bids on ICS! 4) It removes recruits from the ICS database, and recruits do not continue to recieve phone calls from chapter. It also helps maintain an accurate database for chapters to utilize.
So, if you are one of those chapters that has not yet processed all of your signed new members on ICS, do so immediatley. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Need Help?
It appears as if we have several chapters performing below their
chapter goals and expectations. If your chapter is struggling with
recruitment and needs a little help, please let us know. We can work
together to develop strategies and a plan to improve chapter
recruitment
efforts. It is not too late to get things moving in the right
direction. You may contact Brandon Cutler at bcutler@ksu.edu
or 515.290.9110, or Andy Patton at apatton@ksu.edu.
Summer
Orientation Browsing sessions: June 16-20,
and 23-27. The
sessions start at Noon and go to 3:30 PM and are held on the first floor of the
K-State Union. Chapters must be present the entire time each day of
orientation to reserve a spot. If a chapter does not attend each session
for the entire time period, they will not be allowed to participate in the
future. Also, you will need to be set up and ready to go at Noon so plan
on arriving at 11:30 am each day. Tables are first come first serve, and chpaters can no longer RSVP to participate.

ATO & Fiji missing irreplaceable memorabilia
On Saturday night after finals Alpha Tau Omega (ATO )was the
victim of theft and vandalism.
The ATO and US flags were cut down from the Chapter flagpole.
The Chapter House was entered and irreplaceable items were stolen from the
Chapter Room. These included 6 initiation paddles, an Anniversary
plaque and a lighted ATO Badge given to the Chapter by its Housemother in
1954!
ATO wishes to have everything back -- no questions asked.
Colin Cummings, the Summer House Manager, can be reached at 816-810-7995.
Fiji: Phi Gamma Delta was also vandalized the Friday of
finals week. During the night someone
broke off the two large stone balls on the railing to the front
entrance. One ball is completely missing and the other is shattered. In addition, a large wooden
Fraternity crest was stolen a couple of months ago that dates back to Fiji's chartering and is virtually irreplaceable.
Please contact Ross Bartley at rbartley@ksu.edu if you have any information. |

Alumni Fraternity Council Meeting on Monday June 22, 2009 at Little Apple Brewery beginning at 5:30 pm. The top priority for the evening will be electing the 2009-2011 AFC President. We hope to see you there!
Additionally, I want to recognize Tim Lindemuth, 07-09 AFC President for all his hard work and commitment to the Greek Community. The AFC reached new heights under Tim's leadership through the development of Advisor Mentor program, Fraternal Relevance Accreditation program, the review and acceptance of the K-State Greek Affairs Relationship Agreement. Tim's leadership will be missed, but we thank him for all he had done. Thanks Tim!
If you would like to contact Tim to show your appreication for his efforts, you may email him at timlind@ksu.edu.

Volunteer Assistance Needed Each Wednesday from 1:30 to 3:30 Stoneybrook Retirement
Community residents bowl at the K-State Union Bowling Lanes. We transport the
residents on our bus and several are in wheelchairs and use walkers. Assistance
is helpful as we navigate the walkways and elevators. Also several of the
individuals use the bowling ramps so carrying the ball from the return to their
ramp is helpful. If you are willing and able help, your assistance is appreciated. For more information, please contact:
