K-State Integrity Week
Honor and Integrity Peer Educators is the student organization within the K-State Honor and Integrity System.  This past week was Integrity Week and we are trying to educate students about honor and integrity.  Through their office, they work with many students who have some form of academic dishonesty in the classroom. Today, HIPE wishes to remind you of the honor pledge:

"On my honor, as a student, I have neither given nor received unauthorized aid on this academic work."

This pledge applies to any part of your academic career - even if you are off campus at an internship site and on any part of your academic progress.

Most of the cases that come through they Honor and Integrity office are plagiarism - both intentional and unintentional so they encourage you to exam their website for student tips on understanding and how to avoid plagiarism as well as unauthorized collaboration.  HIPE did want to make a special announcement that test files are in many cases a violation of the honor pledge unless the instructor has specifically stated that access to previous tests is allowed.  Each class is different and each instructor may have differing requirements.  HIPE hopes that in all academic aspects you really think about your own integrity and academic honesty.
Food purchasers survey
A Manhattan area organization is seeking input from food purchasers' at K-State sororities and fraternities.  This group is conducting a survey, "Opportunities and Barriers to Institutional Purchases of Local Foods," as part of the research and outreach effort to explore potentials for a thriving local food system in the Kansas River Valley.  They are seeking input from food purchasers' at KSU sororities and fraternities, and ask that you forward on this information to the appropriate person.

Please take this brief survey by April 15, 2009.  All responses are kept confidential.

If you have any questions regarding the survey, please contact Summer Lewis at 785-410-1878 or summerbclewis@gmail.com.

Information needed for NPC Awards
The Panhellenic council is currently preparing the 2009 National Panhellenic Conference Awards and there are a few thing that we need from you.

1. A list of awards/special recognition your chapter has received from your national organization. (Chapters may have already prepared this information for Veronica, PHC Director of Publication Relations).

2. A quick list of the offices (outside of Greek life) that are held by members of your chapter.

Please pass along this information to Meghan, PHC President.  This information would be greatly appreciated before Wednesday April 15. Please let me know if you have any questions.
