Graduate Assistantships Available...
Northwest Missouri State University will have graduate assistant positions for 2009-2010 available in the Office of Campus Activities.  Graduate assistants for Campus Activities will be an essential component of the leadership development initiatives associated with the office, advise Homecoming specific committees and serve as the primary supervisor for student employees; the Graduate Assistant will first and foremost be responsible for advising and monitoring the conduct of the Student Activities Council (SAC) with the assistance of the Assistant Director of Campus Activities.  For further information about these positions, contact Angel McAdams Prescott, Director of Campus Activities, at 660-562-1226 or angel@nwmissouri.edu.
Free LSAT/MCAT/GRE Practice Tests on Campus
On Sunday, February 22nd Kaplan will be offering an on-campus opportunity for K-State students to take a free practice LSAT (Official LSAC Released Exam), MCAT or GRE test proctored under simulated testing conditions.

MCAT 11AM-2:30PM, LSAT 11:30AM-3PM, GRE 11:30AM-1PM

Kaplan's Practice Test, is a terrific opportunity for prospective law/medical/graduate students to answer a critical question, "If I took the exam today, how would I score?" Come see what questions on the real test look like and get a detailed score analysis with section-specific feedback after the test.

Last year, many K-State students assessed their test-taking skills while learning valuable strategies to help them ace the real test.  Since admission to law/medical/graduate school is fierce (and gradually getting fiercer in this economy), a high score on your LSAT/MCAT/GRE can give you a competitive edge.

If you are interested in this opportunity, you can register for Kaplan's Practice Test by calling 1-800-KAP-TEST today or visit us online at www.kaptest.com/practice to sign up instantaneously.

Rubber Duck Race
Get ready for Rubber Ducky time!  Acacia and Triangle Fraternities are once again hosting the 3rd Annual Rubber Duck Race this spring.  We are looking to add several other Greek chapters to partner with us to sponsor this event.    Over the past two years we have raised $2,400 that benefits the local Manhattan Habitat for Humanity chapter and the Flint Hills Breadbasket.   The goal for this year is to raise $5,000.

The duck race works by having individuals or groups 'buy' ducks.  The individual donates a certain fee to the philanthropy in exchange for one duck entry into the race.  On race day all of the sponsored ducks are thrown into the Pillsbury Creek, where they flow down the stream, over the waterfall, and are eventually collected at the finish line. The winners of the race are each awarded a prize donated by an area business.  All of the proceeds from the duck sponsorships and T-Shirt sales are donated to the philanthropy.  The amount of required work is relatively small for this event.

We are looking to combine with other Greek chapters on campus for this exciting event.  Responsibilities for this event include:
·     Soliciting area businesses for prizes for the contest winners
·     Locating sponsors (individuals and groups) for the rubber ducks
·     Helping organize activities, including race day activities
·     Advertising the event across campus and the community
·     Having a ton of fun with some great people!

If you're interested in this event and would like to join us or would
like to request more information please contact either Scott Wiens  swiens@ksu.edu or Austin Enns aenns@ksu.edu.
