Sigma Phi Epsilon helps Kansas Mission of Mercy
Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity is going to be helping with the free dental clinic Kansas Mission of Mercy February 19 - 22. The clinic performs over $ 1,000,000 worth of free dental care over the weekend. Dentists will pull approximately 12,000 teeth during the event. There will be 96 stations set up throughout Kansas, and anybody who is willing to wait in line will be eligible for free care. The station in Manhattan will be at the Armory off of Highway 24. There will be no requirements as far as finance and insurance are concerned. Thank you Sigma Phi Epsilon for your commitment to the community. If you have anymore questions, contact Zach Harmon.
Ecolympics

Make March Much Greener:  Imagine getting the Greek Community together for a whole month to make K-State a greener place to live.  That's what Michael Bell, director of sustainability on SGA, is proposing.  March will be a month-long competition promoting 'green decisions' across campus, appropriately titled Ecolympics, to do just that.

The board is encouraging the Greek community to become involved in preservation related activities to win competitions for each house. Through using less water, conserving energy, saving gasoline by carpooling/biking/walking to class, lowering utility bills, and incorporating educational 'green' programs we can make a difference.  There will be special judging considerations for the houses that come up with the most innovative ideas on how to conserve.

With the support of local businesses, including Westar Energy, this event should be something to look forward to!
The closing ceremony will be at Sunset Zoo, complete with music, games, informative programs, and to announce the winners.  The closing ceremony will be April 4th from 2 - 5 p.m.  Look for more information as the end of March draws near.

Bare your badge!
March 4th has been selected as this year's Badge Day!  Don't forget to dress in badge attire and wear your pin; we want to represent our Greek Community well!  There will be a community service project integrated into the day that benefits the Manhattan Emergency Shelter.  The shelter is requesting items such as paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, powdered laundry detergent, and non-perishable foods be collected for donations.
Brotherhood Exchange program
The fraternities in Kansas State's Greek Community are going to have the opportunity to participate in a unique experience through the Brotherhood Exchange Program. The Brotherhood Exchange program is a way for Greek men of different fraternities to experience life in another chapter house. It is a great way to engender bonds of interfraternal friendship, and also an opportunity to get to know more people outside of your chapter house, and in the community. The men participating in this program have the choice of how long their stay will be with another fraternity. If you or your chapter is interested in participating, please contact Jimmy Kelley.

Be Relevant: Fraternity Relevance Accredidation
What is fraternal relevance? Why base accreditation and recognition around relevance?

Fraternities and sororities, since their founding, have been the model and values-based organizations. Upon
agreeing to membership, each individual brother or sisters commits to living as best they can the creed, mission,
symphony or object of their fraternity or sorority. Members commit to living a lifestyle reflective of noble ideals and values and therefore are often critiqued more harshly than the average college student.

In considering relevance, chapters are Kansas State University are not asked to look to other campus chapters as a measuring stick. Though many ideals and values may in fact be the same as those other chapters, a slight difference in founding principles and current policy can mean result in a major difference in expected action. Instead, Kansas State University chapters are expected to demonstrate mission and action congruence. It's simple - do what you say you will do. Chapters and the members making up the chapter, in order that the are most relevant, should live up to and strive to better live up to their fraternal mission. If Kansas State University chapters are to be most relevant, they will set and achieve outcomes annually which strive to bring them more aligned with their organization's specific founding principles. The Kansas State University Greek community wishes to ensure its relevance. Relevance of the community, however, can only be achieved by the actions of each individual chapter.
