Greeks achieve another semester above all-university GPA The Greek Affairs office is excited to announce another outstanding semester in the area of scholarship. Once again, the all-Greek grade point average, a 3.107, is clearly above the all-university undergraduate grade point average, a 2.972. The Panhellenic women achieved a 3.215, where as the all-university non-Greek undergraduate achieved a combined score of 3.109. Way to go!

Greek LEADS: February 28 Make sure your chapter calendar is marked - Greek LEADS (Leadership Enrichment And Development Sessions) for the spring semester will be held on February 28, 2009 in the K-State Student Union. Once again, the format will include a series of hot-topic discussions, with a guest key-note speaker presenting over the noon hour.
This semester's Greek LEADS is focused on chapter leadership and whole-chapter development. Greek LEADS has something to offer to everyone in the chapter, not just new members.
The spring 2009 keynote speaker is Ross Szabo, presenting his program entitled: Mixed Drinks, Mixed Emotions: Alcohol Abuse and Mental Health. This program will addresses the ties between substance abuse and mental health. Ross Szabo has been speaking about this issue to hundreds of thousands of young people all over the country. His goal is to break down the stereotypes surrounding expression of emotion in order to help young people function at their highest level. Students will learn about mental disorders, positive coping mechanisms and the best ways to open communication amongst their peers. Learn more about Ross and his program.

Alumnae volunteers meeting this coming Tuesday Please remind all Alumnae volunteers they are invited to attend a brief meeting at the Kat House in Aggieville this coming Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. This meeting is part of the monthly standing meetings for alumnae leadership. All are welcome to attend. This month's agenda items include an update on Extension as well as a brief conversation regarding 2009 formal membership recruitment. |
JuicyCampus shuts down! Blaming the economy, not the controversy surrounding the website, JuiceCampus shuts down. According to an article in The Chronical of Higher Education, "for a year and a half, the gossip site wreaked social havoc on many campuses," K-State being on of such campuses. An email sent today from the PHC Directors of Recruitment reminded chapter presidents PHC is currently missing applications for Recruitment Guide from several chapters. Recruitment Guide Applications are due into Greek Affairs by Monday, February 9 at 4:00 p.m. Applications are available online. |
Social chairs to meet and discuss community programming Please remind all social chairs of an upcoming meeting hosted by the PHC and IFC Directors of Interfraternal Relations: Tuesday, February 10, 2009 - 7 pm at Pi Kappa Alpha. The agenda will include a conversation regarding Greek Week plans.

The Sisterhood Exchange is set for March 26 and 27.
