General Announcements
Why am I getting Friday Findings?
If you're not your chapter's president, Panhellenic delegate or primary advisor, this is a very understandable question.  Your getting this in an effort to improve communication between you and the Panhellenic Council and Greek Affairs.  We've heard your feedback and we're putting a new plan in place!

Every other Friday, chapter presidents, delegates and primary chapter advisors will continue to receive Friday Findings.  Friday Findings continues pertinent information, from the Panhellenic Council and Greek Affairs.  On the off Friday, all chapter leadership listed on the chapter's ICS officer roster will receive a similar newsletter, Friday Findings: Extended Version.  Some information will be for all chapter officers, some specific to a particular officer.  The hope is this system will cut down on sporadic emails from the Panhellenic Council, as well as streamline the communication model.

We hope you'll enjoy this communication model and knowing you email inbox will be a bit cleaner!

Think another chapter leader should be receiving Friday Findings?  Know of an alumnae who might have an interest in knowing what's going on in the Panhellenic Community?  Pass along the newsletter and ask they use the button below to subscribe.

K-State a Kaleidoscope Award
The work of the 2008 Panhellenic Council has made them a finalist for the Linda A. Wardhammar Kaleidoscope Award,  presented to only one campus annually as part of the Mid-American Greek Council Association annual meeting. This award recognizes innovative programming among all applications received.  K-State's PHC was nominated for the award due to the innovated way they submitted their applications...not in the typically three-ring binders, but in a most cost and environmentally friendly way, online.

The PHC will know if they are honored with the award at the MGCA Banquet in St. Louis, February 12-15.
Keep up-to-date on PHC business

Get your information published in NewsGreek
Work is under way to put together our first Greek newsletter, NewsGreek, for 2009.  The Panhellenic and Interfraternity Councils are composing a list of potential articles and writers for this e-newsletter.  Needed from every chapter are articles for upcoming
events and events that have been done this semester. It is also the desire to recognize chapters for major awards they have won through their (Inter)National Fraternity/Sorority, and any outstanding individuals that have won awards, been accepted to Graduate school or Medical School, or anyone that you feel should be recognized for their hard work for the Greek community.

Please send any information or photographs you have that promote a strong Greek image to Veronica Baus, PHC Director of Public Relations.  You're help is greatly appreciated.
Recruitment/Retention Information
COB already looking to be a huge success for many chapters!
This semester, many chapters are participating in COB due to the PHC resolution which allowed chapters to recruit to 147 members.  (See the resolution passed November 24, 2008.) This resolution resulted from the Extension Committee's feeling that there were more qualified women who wished to affiliate with a K-State sorority than for which there was currently space.

It appears the Extension Committee was correct!  Many potential new members have posted their applications on ICS.  Thanks to your work and the awesome coordination of Danielle Butler, PHC Director of Recruitment for COB and Retention, over 52 women attended the Spring Panhellenic Sorority Open House last Sunday evening.  Many chapters are reporting signed membership invitations!

Please feedback on the 2009 Spring Panhellenic Sorority Open House using the online survey.

Remember, all new members must sign a Greek Affairs new member card as well as a yellow Binding Membership Agreement, both issued by the Greek Affairs staff.  All new members must be reported to Greek Affairs within 48 hours.

Thank you all for your continued hard work!  The K-State Greek community is growing!
Applications now being accepted for the Retention Advisory Council
Please remind your members the Panhellenic Council is offering an open applications process for recruitment guides. Applicants must be juniors or seniors who have gone through recruitment as both a PNMs and chapter member, with a 2.5 GPA or higher.

Applications are available in the Greek Affairs office or on line.  Applications are due on February 9 by 4 p.m. in the Greek Affairs office. The interview schedule is offered on the application.

Currently up to 8 women from each chapter may apply for the position of Recruitment Guide. An amendment to the Panhellenic Bylaws, proposed at the last PHC meeting, would open the process to any who wish to apply.  This motion was is the result of the PHC Board of Directors desire to have the most qualified members of the commnunity serving as Recruitment Guides.  A vote on this amendment will be taken on February 2.

We hope to have many women apply!
