Plan Views
from The Cecil Group
We've been holding off on sending out our Q2 edition of Plan Views in anticipation of our new website being launched. Now that we've accomplished that we're ready to start spreading the news. See below for a preview of the site and learn about our enormously improved navigation. Also in this issue, we welcome Emily Innes, the newest member of The Cecil Group staff and share with you some artwork from our annual participation in Common Boston's Chalk One Up with Sidewalk Sam event. Because Q3 is just around the corner we're keeping this edition of Plan Views on the shorter side, but join us next quarter as our regular columns return, including our project spotlight.

The Cecil Group Website
The Cecil Group Website has a New Look
It's with great excitement that we unveil our new website to you. Aside from an updated look, the new website features a powerful new way to sift through our portfolio, making it easier for you to better understand our wide range of services and capabilities. You'll be able to sift by project category (architecture, urban design, community planning, etc) and dig deeper into project type (waterfront planning, transit-oriented development, campus master plans, etc).

In addition, we've added a news section in order to bring you better/fresher content, update you on new and exciting things happening at The Cecil Group, and share with you fun things we're up to as a firm (check out our chalk drawing with Sidewalk Sam). If you don't follow us on Twitter, you'll be able to see our new tweets in the lower left hand corner of most pages of the website and we're providing links to our past issues of Plan Views on the site for quicker access. We think you'll like the new look and we're sure you'll like the improved navigation and fresher information.

Emily Innes

Meet our Newest Staff Member: Emily

Many of you have already realized there's a new voice at the other end of the phone when you call; meet Emily Innes (pronounced like Guinness, but without the "gu"). Emily has taken the reins of Administrative Assistant from Meghan Grafton, who left to pursue a nursing degree. Emily is in her second year in the Master of Architecture program at the Boston Architectural College and, when not at work, can be found surrounded by piles of drawing and modeling materials. As a member of the Town of Milton's Planning Board, she has experience with some of the same questions that many of our clients have, an invaluable resource. In her spare time (we didn't realize architecture students had any spare time), Emily loves to cook and travel as evidenced by the above photo of her. Can you guess where this photo was taken? The correct guess will win our admiration and awe.
Sidewalk Sam
Chalking One Up with Sidewalk Sam
For its 2nd year in a row, The Cecil Group participated in Common Boston's Chalk One Up with Sidewalk Sam. It wasn't hard to convince Cecil Group staffers to take a break from the office, roll up their sleeves and put their creative power toward a sidewalk chalk drawing. This year's drawing evokes lazy summer days in Fort Point. See more pictures here.
We hope you enjoyed our 6th issue of Plan Views - The Cecil Group's quarterly e-newsletter. Our aim is to provide you with useful information and update you on firm news. Is there other information you'd like to hear from us? Reply to this email and give us your feedback.
