Vote YES November 10!
The Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors unanimously voted to endorse the passage of the Edmond Public School Bond issue on November 10, 2009. The Board agreed to this proposal noting the role that the Edmond Public Schools play in the quality of life and its large economic impact to the Edmond community.

"Education is such an important matter to Edmond. Therefore, the Edmond Chamber and its Board urges voters in Edmond to go to the polls on November 10, 2009 and vote "Yes" for the bond issue" said Ken Moore, President & CEO of the Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce. "If passed, the $36.1 million bond issue should not increase our taxes, which was one of the major reasons that our Board was able to pass this resolution with no opposition."
Items Needed for Military Goody Bags3 herd
Each quarter the Chamber's Military Affairs Council gathers items to award Tinker troops for going above and beyond.

We need 4 like-items to put in the 4 bags given out. Items need to be at the Chamber by 10am next Wednesday, Nov 11, 2009. The bags will be awarded on Friday at a luncheon at Tinker. Please just bring the items by or contact Lydia Miller if you have questions.
Go Green for the Holidays!

The Chamber's Green Council has been working hard to help local businesses be green and save money to help their bottom line. If you want to start going green at your company, the Council has two new downloads to help!

The new downloads are "Going Green - Where do I begin?" and "Start with the Low Hanging Fruit". These two downloads are great resources to begin your green journey. The web page also has other informational downloads, links to helpful web sites and a spotlight form for businesses who are using green practices.

"Just in time for the holidays, reusable shopping bags are about to go decidedly mainstream." Check out this article in USA Today and learn about discounts!!!!!
