This workshop is designed to give gardeners the fundamental skills and encouragement to create beautiful, diverse and sustainable perennial gardens that connect with our natural, local landscape. We will begin with site analysis and look at ways of integrating design, establishment and care of your gardens to create functional, aesthetic and sustainable garden spaces. Bring your ideas along with photographs, plans or sketches of a garden you would like to create.

The Wonders of Composting

Learn how to compost in your backyard, how to accelerate your composting process and how to troubleshoot issues you may encounter. Some hands-on activity and a review of various compost collection systems will take place in the BBA Compost Court will be included. Dress for going outside.
Wednesday Wildflower Walks

Join us and share the pleasure of a spring walk in the woods and fields of Beaver Brook. Exercise while enjoying and learning about the wild flowers as they bloom. Free. Meet at Maple Hill Farm 117 Ridge Road Hollis April 13. Call 465-7787 for future meeting locations.
Moderate Fitness Hiking
Fridays April 1- May 27
9 -11 a.m.
$20 (can be prorated)

These hikes will keep you constantly moving but at a moderately slow pace. Start out flat the first week but then we will add in some slight ups and downs. All hikes take place on Beaver Brook property and woodland trails. Rain will cancel. Adults only and no dogs please.
Spring Flings!
Parent and Child Discoveries
Take time out with your young children to explore spring. Each session will include a short story or poems to stir up our curiosities before venturing to the special places of Beaver Brook for first hand investigation.
Geared for ages 2-5. Younger siblings are welcome to come along.
Programs will take place rain or shine. Indoor activities on rainy days will be part of the program. Please bring raingear when necessary. Call to register today!

Join educator Kap Siddall for an exploration of maple Hill Farm for signs of spring! You'll see things you might not have noticed before.
This is a program to encourage family outdoor play for better health and childhood development.
Hiking and Yoga

Learn how to warm up and stretch your muscles and joints before hiking (useful for other outdoor activities also). There are so many benefits derived from yoga and from being outside, that you will positively feel wonderful after this class. Bring a mat or if you don't have one, you can borrow one. Enjoy tea or a cool beverage after hiking with some cool down exercises.
