Big Improvements for Arlington, Lamar high schools

As Lamar High School students arrived to school, one of the first things they noticed while shuttling from class to class was not having to walk through the cafeteria to get where they were going. Interim Superintendent Dr. Marcelo Cavazos couldn't get to all 73 Arlington ISD schools the first day of classes, but it certainly wasn't for a lack of trying. Wanting to encourage students, teachers, staff and administrators to kick off the 2012-2013 school year in high, spirited gear, Cavazos visited 11 schools, shuttling from class to class, conversing with teachers, principals, staff and, of course, students, who often seemed both pumped and perplexed at the idea of the district's top administrator standing right before them. | Interim Superintendent Dr. Marcelo Cavazos walks home from Dunn Elementary with the Hercules family after visiting 11 campuses on the first day of school.
