Superintendent McCullough Announces Budget Reductions
With the devastating reductions expected in state foundation and grant funding next year, the AISD will need to make deep budgetary reductions in all areas. With a possible $48 million shortfall, we cannot wait to begin taking action. At tonight's board meeting, I will announce $15.3 million in reductions for the 2011-2012 school year. I invite you to view this brief message about the budget reductions that I will announce tonight. In addition to these planned reductions, there are other reductions being considered for the future. Information about these possible reductions can be found at aisd.net/budget.

I am proud of the work we do here in the AISD, and I appreciate the hard work and dedication of every AISD employee and the support of the community. I will continue to share information regarding our budget as it becomes available. I urge you to contact your legislators about keeping the state cuts to public education funding to a minimum and using the rainy day fund.
