Mission and Vision of the CAS District

Our Mission:
The Mission of the Capitol Area South District is to encourage and equip United Methodist congregations in their mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Our Vision
The vision of the Capitol Area South District is that all local churches are to be disciple-making centers that mirror the demographic composition of the community in which they are located in terms of age, ethnicity, and cultural background; and that the congregations continually grow and reach new people for Christ and strive to be open and inclusive of all God's children.

Stewardship Help for Your Church

How is your congregation doing in the area of stewardship?  I hope you are doing well, but my experience is that most clergy and lay leadership struggle with this area of ministry.

Any pastor or lay person who wants to get up to speed quickly on some basic, solid principles of stewardship, Christopher's book is a good place to start.  Clif is a United Methodist pastor who founded the Horizons Stewardship Company in 1992.  He serves as a consultant to congregations in all phases of building, finances, and church growth.

Among other things, Christopher feels strongly that the pastor needs to know about the giving records of persons in the congregation.  How strongly does he feel about that?  He calls if "clergy malpractice" if the pastor doesn't know.

Doug Anderson from the Reuben Job Center.
