Capitol Area South Mission and Vision:
Dr. Hank Stringer, District Superintendent Our Mission:
The Mission of the Capitol Area South District is to encourage and equip United Methodist congregations in their mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Our Vision:
The vision of the Capitol Area South District is that all local churches are to be disciple-making centers that mirror the demographic composition of the community in which they are located in terms of age, ethnicity, and cultural background; and that the congregations continually grow and reach new people for Christ and strive to be open and inclusive of all God's children.

Urban Immersion Event Set for September 18-19
The Capitol Area North District and Capitol Area South District along with the United Methodist Ministries of the Capitol Area Districts and United Theological Seminary are partnering to offer a training for teams of clergy and laity .
While the training is being offered through the Center for Urban Ministry, the class is applicable to congregations in urban, rural, and suburban settings. Many suburban and rural congregations are partnering with urban congregations to be in ministry together in the urban areas of the Columbus metro area. Your congregation is invited to attend this training. Please consider sending a team for this training that will focus on the topic of becoming a missional church. The event will also address ways that partnerships with rural and suburban congregations can strengthen both their ministries in the urban settings and in their own local places of ministry. The training will be held on September 18-19, at the King Ave UM Church, 299 King Ave. Columbus. The registration fee is $20.00 per person and the deadline for registration is September 11. Click HERE for a copy of the registration brochure.

Whatever you have come to understand about what "church" is, you can toss it out the window when you read this book.

Prayer Concerns
Our prayers continue with Judy Baker. Her husband Wes writes concerning her condition, "In the near future we will be seeking the love and support of Hospice of Central Ohio since we know and love this organization and its wonderful staff."
Our prayers are with the Rev. Nancy Draves who was hospitalized recently.
We remember Suzanne Stringer who is recovering at home from a complete knee replacement.
The Rev. John Gray had surgery and is now recovering.
