Showcase 2012 Reminder
If you haven't already, don't forget to RSVP for Theatre Ontario Showcase 2012--two days of talent featuring over 230 theatre school graduates from across Ontario, and the National Theatre School in Montreal. Showcase takes place on January 15, starting at 10:30am, and January 16, starting at 11:00am, at the Jane Mallet Theatre in the St. Lawrence Centre, Toronto. It is open to all artistic directors, freelance directors, casting directors, and agents (signed to the EIC or members of TAMAC). Read more about Showcase 2012 |
Taxes Workshop For Theatre Artists
Our popular "Taxes For Theatre Artists" professional workshop returns to help you sort your way through the 2011 tax season. What is the difference between "employment" and "self-employment"? What is a "reasonable expectation of profit"? What's deductible? This is one of our free workshops for members of Theatre Ontario, lead by chartered accountant Sam Marinucci, and it will be on March 8 at 3pm.

 Do you know someone whose contribution to Ontario theatre is significant, sustained, unselfish and involved? Nominate that person for the 2012 Maggie Bassett Award and they can join an honoured list of recipients including Diana Belshaw, Don Fleckser, Alex Mustakas, and Yvette Nolan.

Congrats to Fall 2011 YTTP Recipients
We are pleased to announce the latest recipients of training grants through Theatre Ontario's Youth Theatre Training Program (YTTP). From 16 applications, $23,000 was awarded in total.

Funding professional mentorships
Theatre Ontario is now inviting applications for the March 1, 2012 deadline for the Professional Theatre Training Program (PTTP), funded by the Ontario Arts Council, an agency of the Government of Ontario.
PTTP offers financial support for unique and flexible training with a chosen mentor in any theatrical discipline except performance.
