From The President

What a terrific start to 2012!  It was just great having so many of our chapter members and familiar friends attend our January meeting.

We kicked off the New Year with helpful tips from Naples Daily News columnist and Professional Organizer, Marla Ottenstein.  Especially nice was welcoming several new faces to our luncheon, area professionals whom we hope to see regularly. Thank you all for coming!

As you'll see below, we're keeping the momentum strong with a presentation this month on Personal Branding by Cyndee Woolley, APR.  You won't want to miss this!  Please mark your calendars and come join us Feb. 28th at the Naples Hilton.

January Lunch N Learn - Swearing In Officers and Board
PRSA 2012 Board and Officers
2012 PRSA Gulf Coast Board and Officers
What A Good Time We Had

The Gulf Coast PRSA Board and Officers were sworn in by Congressional Candidate Trey Radel.

Of course, this was only the beginning of a great meeting as Marla Ottenstein, professional organizer and noted author, had the place in stitches as she gave out practical tips on how to stay organized for the new year.

Marla conducted a great question and answer session where tips, ideas, and suggestion from the audience were used to provide even more useful suggestions.

Here is her most recent column as seen on Naples News Media Group news site.

It was a great crowd of about 50 people, exchanging smiles and stories. Most stories were of optimism for the coming year. It is peak season, so it was a great break from the daily routing as well.

Next Free Webinar: Preparing for the Unexpected - Add Value to Your Organization During a Crisis

It does not matter whether your crisis communications plan is in a binder on a shelf, or kept electronically in a smartphone. What is important is that your organization has one. The crisis communications plan is a critical component of an organization's crisis management program. Despite advances in digital technology and social media, a successful response to a crisis depends on a solid plan built around teams, processes, audiences and messages.

You will learn how to:

  • Identify the critical parts of a crisis plan.
  • Leverage the value of other existing company plans and procedures.
  • Select a crisis team and maximize its effectiveness.
  • Maintain and improve your plan.
  • Provide value to your organization when it counts - in a crisis.
