Since the AgriBEE Sector Code will be published within the next month and since AgriBEE implementation will become mandatory, it is critical that all agribusinesses participate in this study.
While enterprise turnover thresholds determining the Exempted Micro Enterprises category (R5,0 million and lower) and the Qualifying Small Enterprise category (R5,0 a R35,0 million) are currently set according to the Codes of Good Practice (already set in 2008), these thresholds need to be reviewed.
This has significant relevance to the clients of agribusiness as the majority of farmers will fall within these two categories and a major shift in these thresholds will affect their ability to achieve a suitable level of compliancy, as well as have a cost factor to their business. Agribusinesses are urged to participate in this survey as a matter of urgency.
