ABC's Agbiz Congress:

Last chance to get involved in the Congress Student Project

StudentsThe ABC hosted student promotion projects at its biennial congress in both 2008 and 2010. It was a huge success and due to popular demand, it is back! We are also expanding it at the 2012 Congress, as students will participate in a very exciting Agbiz / IFAMA Student Case Competition.

ABC members are given the opportunity to participate in this project, by becoming involved as sponsors of each individual student. A student sponsorship amounts to R8000 (excl. VAT), and is used to cover all the students' costs as well as other costs involved in realising this initiative.

Many ABC members are already involved. Members have one last chance to still get involved - the more sponsors, the more students that can benefit from this amazing experience. To allow enough time for logistical arrangements, members can still indicate their willingness to sponsor until Monday, 14 May 2012.

Click here to read more on the proposed project, the Competition, as well as the benefits for students and the marketing benefits for sponsors.

For more information, please contact Lindie Stroebel at 079 497 1594, or lindie@agbiz.co.za

BUSA Comments on the Latest Unemployment Statistics

Unemployment

Business Unity South Africa (BUSA) has noted with concern the rise in unemployment from 23.9% to 25.2% in 1Q2012, as announced yesterday by Statistics South Africa. This injects renewed urgency into the need to address policy constraints to employment in South Africa and to encourage all practical measures in both the public and private sectors to enhance South Africa's economic performance in the face of global challenges.
