 Unity in Agriculture
Unity_1Unity in agriculture seems to becoming a reality.  A meeting was held last week under the chairmanship of Prof Mohammad Karaan where concensus was reached on the framework for a Unity Forum.  The pilot committee consists of leaders from the National African Farmers' Union (Nafu), the African Farmers' Association of South Africa (Afasa), the United South African Agricultural Association (USAAA), Agri SA, TAU SA, the South African Processors Association (SAAPA) and the Agricultural Business Chamber (ABC).  PMA Agric/Horti Career and Bursary Fair

StudentsThe issue of young people not entering the horticultural/agricultural industry has already reached a critical stage. Universities, agricultural businesses, input supply companies, commercial farms and service providers continue to report how the unavailability of young people is affecting their businesses. Following the successful Agric/Horti Career & Bursary Fair at the University of Pretoria organised by the Produce Marketing Association (PMA) in September last year, this initiative is extended to the University of Stellenbosch on 12 April 2012. To get an idea on what the successful Agric Career & Bursary Fair at University of Pretoria entailed, view a short DVD on the Career Fair: http://www.up.ac.za/telematic/video
