A Life Touched
Sadly Ivy* lost her mother while young. As is all too often the case in Uganda, her mom died during childbirth, leaving four children behind. Her father had a second wife, but he was arrested for killing her and later died in prison. Ivy and her siblings faced a difficult and lonely life.
But in 2010, she came to live at Restoration Gateway. As you can see from her photo, she is an adorable nine-year-old who now loves to smile and play. Ivy is confident that she will receive necessities like shelter, food, clothes and schooling, which have not always been easy to obtain. She will never escape the loss of her parents, but at RG she has a chance to have family in her House Mom Judith and seven "brothers and sisters" who, like Ivy, lost their parents.
Ivy is in Primary 2 class in school, which is the equivalent of second grade in the USA. Like many of the children at RG, she loves school. She wants to learn and does not take it for granted. She listens to the teacher and studies hard. And of course, she enjoys recess! Children in Africa love to play, just as do children in America.
Please remember to pray for Ivy and the 71 other orphans at Restoration Gateway. Although her life has not been easy, God has been her Rescuer and Provider. Pray that she always knows him as Father and Friend as well, and that her time at RG will prepare her to fulfill the callings God has for her.
