FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
YOUTH DEVELOPMENTLast month we introduced you to some exciting changes happening here at the Y. We told you about our three areas of focus: For Youth Development, For Healthy Living and For Social Responsibility. Because you are an important part of our organization, we want to share with you the meaning behind each of the focus areas.

Behind "For Youth Development" is our belief that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. The values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for life. At the Y, children and teens learn positive values and behaviors and can explore their unique talents and interests, helping them realize their potential. That makes for confident kids today and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow.

Next month: FOR HEALTHY LIVING

YOGA AND MEDITATION SEMINAR

Saturday, October 16th, Nicolle Morgan is hosting a Yoga Seminar at the Middlesex Family YMCA from 9:00am to 11:15am. Come reduce anxiety, stress and depression through the practice of Yoga and an overview of how to start or enhance a personal meditation practice. The seminar includes 1½ hours of Yoga (a fusion of Vinyasa and Hatha) and a twenty minute group meditation. Freshly juiced fruits and vegetables will be provided. Previous yoga experience is not required.  Members may participate at the rate of $10; program participants at the rate of $20.00. Contact oliveforyoga@gmail.com to register.
