Outdoor Water Aerobics

The Middlesex Family YMCA has extended its aerobics program to include Water Aerobics. Classes held at the Deltaville and Urbanna pools. That's right, we are sending our certified instructor to each pool to teach Water Aerobics.  Anyone in the community can participate, you do not have to be a member of the YMCA to come to class.

Everyone from teens to seniors can benefit from the class. It's a good way to workout and not have to sweat!  Get energized and feel good the rest of the day after exercising in the pool. The water supports joints and weight, putting less impact on the body while elevating the heart rate therefore giving a great cardiovascular workout. Classes start June 29 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at Taber Park pool in Urbanna and 10:15 am to 11:15am at the Deltaville pool. The cost is $5.00 per class or $40.00 for the 6 week program.

Super Sports

Youth Super Sports Building Winners for Life

At the YMCA, youth sports is as much about building character as it is about learning sports skills.

Starting this fall the YMCA is introducing Youth Super Sports. This is the YMCA's new progressive youth sports program that combines the marvelous philosophy of past YMCA youth sports programs with new program concepts. Children learn character values as well as sports skills and tactics by incorporating fun and creative games during every practice. Our "games approach" sessions during each practice are designed to better prepare players for competitions.

There are 3 components to YMCA Super Sports

YMCA Rookies
Developmental program that teaches young players basic skills and strategies of the sport while incorporating our character values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

YMCA Winners

Competitive, unique, values-based sports program for older boys and girls that develops skills and tactics while keeping our character values in play.

YMCA Champions
Designed to motivate youngsters to strive for excellence. It is an innovative, challenging awards program for youth participating in YMCA Winners.
