Greetings!

This month, we've got a new label design and support for a new label printer, along with further discussion of Enterprise.
New Label Design

In 2.9.15, released earlier this month, we've added support for the Zebra LP2844 label printer, along with adding an alternative label design for the recommended Bixolon printer.

Depending on your needs, you may find this label more useful than the older designs.  While it does not support the full array of options that previous designs have, it does offer the ability to print the current date on the label, an often requested feature.  Additionally, the design is a bit more aesthetic-aware, attempting to look consistent whether you're printing a upc, ean, or user defined item number.
Good Computer Habits

Keeping your computer healthy and organized doesn't require a tremendous amount of work, so long as you do so from the start.  Once things have gotten out of hand, however, it can be quite a large job to get the computer back under control.  What can you do?

Microsoft has quite a good article available at their website going over good computing habits.  Foremost among these is making certain that you are running an antivirus and that you are applying Windows updates.  Systems purchased from us will be set to automatically apply updates, but these settings can be changed.  Make certain they have not.

Beyond the items mentioned at that site is the importance of making regular backups and making certain that they're placed off of the computer.  In the event something drastic happens to your point of sale computer, you do not want to lose all of the data.
Enterprise Features

Among other things, Enterprise will make it easier than ever to determine if other stores have items you're out of stock of.  Either from inventory maintenance, or when you're at a stock prompt after attempting to sell an item which you have no stock of, you may launch the new multistore lookup as seen below.

This will show you all of your stores, the stock levels both new and used in each, and a status symbol - if a store is unable to be reached (such as in an internet outage at that store) then it will be marked with a red error.

Additionally, you'll be able to search the corporate inventory, and import from it very similarly to how other databases work within the system.

For customers on an update plan, the most recent version of the software is 2.09.0015.
