Greetings!
We've got a new option available for the customer display, which can be used by any of our customers on a current version. More details below!

New Customer Display Option
We've got a new customer display pole available, intended to run the rear display application previously mentioned in this newsletter.
What makes this display different is that it does not require a second VGA output. Instead, it plugs in through a USB port, allowing for you to use this with an existing computer easily, with very little setup required - it doesn't even require a power supply, instead drawing directly from the computer.
It fits in with the rest of the system, as you can see below, and can be used for all of the features of ExtremePOS Customer Display, including advertisement videos and pictures, total invoice display, custom messages for different products, and more!

Holiday Sales Projections
It's time for holiday season once more, and this year projections are cautiously optimistic for retail growth. The International Council of Shopping Centers projects 2.2% growth for the year, and while this can obviously vary greatly regionally, you should try to project based on last years sales how much inventory you're likely to need to avoid ending up with far too much or too little.
Consider using the Sales Analysis tools from reports -> sales analysis for last year, if you've been using ExtremePOS for at least one year, to try and figure out what you'll need in the way of inventory.

Gift Card Options
We've had a few people ask about what choices they have for gift cards, within and outside of the system. First, there are the internal gift cards. You can either get these printed through us, or you can have them done by an external print shop, depending on how many you need. These can be used by anyone using ExtremePOS 2.9, regardless of credit card processor. There is also no need for a constant internet connection; the balances are kept locally on your system. While currently these can only be used at the store from which they are issued, one of the features of ExtremePOS Enterprise is going to be the ability to use them at other stores within the chain. Second, if you are a Mercury Payment Systems user using ExtremePOS Payment, you can use Mercury's gift cards program. These cards MUST be gotten through Mercury, but may be used multistore now. Finally, if you don't want physical cards, you can use what is referred to within the program as a gift receipt. This is a printed slip of paper with a gift card number on it, and otherwise functions identically to the internal gift cards (and may, in fact, be used in combination with those.) The disadvantage is that they are easily lost and do not look particularly professional, but this is the cheapest option. |
