Thank you to everyone who visited us at the show in Atlanta!  As always, we look forward to seeing you again next year, when the conference will be in Orlando, Florida from July 15th through July 18th.
Preview Videos for the Kiosk
As a follow-up to our preview last month about the Customer Kiosk product using Spring Arbor's Data Services API, we've posted a few videos about the product.  These are available on our YouTube site
Tips for Social Media
Social media can be wonderful marketing for a small business, but you can only get results if you're committed to it.  A recent article  goes over a number of tips for utilizing social media as a small business, and these sorts of tutorial articles can be wonderful when you are first getting started.

One of the biggest mistakes that you could make as a business owner is halfheartedly pursuing multiple sites.  Instead, you should try and focus on building good quality at whatever sites you end up on.

License Drawing

Congratulations to Linda Hurn on winning the drawing for a software license at ICRS!  We greatly appreciate everyone who entered.

Pictures for Inventory

You may associate a picture with an item in inventory maintenance.  In addition to providing a way to visually match up an item with its record, this picture can be used and displayed with the customer display application.  (Note that the picture does not have to be of the item itself - you can place a related advertisement's picture on the item.)

To do this, go into inventory maintenance and to the specific item for which you want to add or change the picture.  Go to the optional tab, and hit load picture.  You will then be given a file dialog, in which you must browse to the picture file you want to use.

Once that's done, hit the update button, and you're done with that item!

Additionally, if you are a subscriber to Ingram's Data Services API, you may get pictures from their database.

New Item Defaults

Most of you know that you can default items to be taxable, but you can actually set a wide array of defaults on items, from department or category to used max or vendors.

These settings are all station specific, and to set them, go into inventory management, and under the tools tab hit the 'new item defaults' button.

For customers on an update plan, the most recent version of the software is 2.09.0009.
