Greetings!

The International Christian Retail Show is at the end of the month, from June 27th - June 30th in St. Louis, Missouri.  We will be exhibiting at this convention once again this year at booth 1119; for more information, either contact us or visit their site at http://www.christianretailshow.com/
Upcoming Bookstore Features

For version 2.9 of Praiz, we are adding additional support for bookstores.  First, we're supporting EDI with Anchor and Baker and Taylor.  Second, we're releasing our support for the Symtio feature.  And third, we're adding in the fully featured payment module, which will add support for multi-store gift cards and debit transactions.
Customer Display Screenshots and Brochure

We have created a booklet demonstrating the benefits of using the ExtremePOS Customer Display.  This program is free with the purchase of the necessary hardware and ExtremePOS, Musicware, or Praiz, and can be used to show advertisements.  You may view this brochure here; contact sales for more information about the hardware needed for running this useful program!
Regarding Upgrades & PCI Compliance

If you are using ExtremePOS, Musicware, or Praiz to process credit card transactions, you will need to be aware of the following information.  If you are processing transactions outside of ExtremePOS, Musicware, or Praiz, and not storing any credit card data within these products, then you should check with the provider of your credit card terminal or software for information on this topic.

Visa, MasterCard, Amex and Discover adopted the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard. The standard contains 12 requirements and more detailed sub-requirements. These are detailed here: https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/security_standards/download.html?id=pci_dss_v1-2.pdf

As a merchant, you will need to be compliant by following and practicing the PCI Data Security Standards.

To help our merchants meet the constantly changing PCI requirements, we have created a new, separate payment application to handle the processing of credit card data.  This new application is PA-DSS compliant, and is currently being validated by an authorized auditing firm named 403 Labs, LLC.  Currently, this application is available to customers to run completely separate from the existing Extreme Software Corporation software, and testing is taking place to provide an integrated version to offer as much of the convenience of the old method of processing as is possible under these new security guidelines.  The integrated version will require version 2.9 of the Extreme Software Corporation software, which will be released before the July 1st deadline for switching.

Extreme Point of Sale, Inc and Extreme Software Corporation did not mandate this standard, so please don't shoot the messenger! We are here to alert you!

Please contact us regarding setting up a time for the installation of a new version to meet the software portion of the PCI requirements.  If you are unsupported, we can discuss options for your upgrade.

For customers on an update plan, the most recent version of the software is 2.06.0035.

Support is ending for versions 2.05.0048 and older of ExtremePOS, Musicware, and Praiz on December 1st, 2010.  Get more information
