Greetings!
Are you taking advantage of all the features of your point of sale software? Extreme POS has a wide array of tools to make your life easier, such as gift cards, the label utility, or sales histories for individual items.

We Want Your Feedback!
With the upcoming version 3 and payment application release, we're looking for a list of features most important to our customers. This is your chance to affect our programming priorities! Just reply to this email with your list of features you want to see in the software. Bear in mind that this is for features in 3.0, so the payment application will already be out, with features such as debit and Mercury Gift Cards support included.

Gift Cards
Are you
offering gift cards in your store? If not, you should know that they
are built in to recent versions of Extreme Point of Sale, Inc.
software! We can print up actual cards for you to sell, or you can use
printed 'gift receipts' that have the card number on them. In order to
sell a gift card, simply follow these steps:
1. Enter gc as the
item number.
2. If it is a gift card, select gift card and scan
the number from the barcode printed on the card. If it is a receipt,
select gift receipt and either make up your own number or push
autogenerate to have the system do it for you.
3. Enter the
amount and hit okay. Finish the transaction as normal and your customer
will have a card.
In order to accept a gift card, simply hit
gift at the tender screen and scan or type the card number. The amount
will default to the lesser of either the cost of the transaction or the
balance of the card, though you may edit this.
To find out even
more about gift cards, consult the most recent version of the manual,
available from the web page by filling out a free trial form and then
following the manual link provided at the trial page. |
Label Utility
The ESC
Label Utility comes with Musicware, Extreme POS, and Praiz, and can be
launched from the program group in the start menu for your program.
This
program allows you to mass print labels, either off of a search or from
purchase orders. It will load default settings from your database for
the label printer.
When you first run the program, you will need
to select the server for it. This will be the same as your server for
your main program.
There are three basic options for choosing
which products to print labels for, which you select from by clicking
the radio button next to the one you wish to use.
Inventory file,
which allows you to do a search on your inventory in the same style as
lookup searches from within ExtremePOS and print the results (or,
alternatively, leave the search fields blank and then print your entire
inventory).
Purchase Orders, which allows you to print out labels
for a specific PO.
Or Labels Queued from ExtremePOS HQ Store,
for our HQ Corp/Store users using HQ Corp/Store for updating pricing and
items.
There are two basic options for quantity of each label to
print; you can print the instock quantity, either new in stock or used
in stock. Otherwise, you can print a specific number of each label.
When
you're ready to print, hit okay. This will bring up the normal label
printing screen with a few new options:
Select/Change Data to
Print will return you to the first screen. Show Data will list all of
the items you are going to print in a grid format. Additionally, the
number of items to print shows in the lower left-hand corner.
Once
you're satisfied with the format and dataset, hit print and your labels
will print.

Item Sales History
For a quick view of how a particular item is selling, take a look at the history tab in inventory maintenance for that particular item. This can allow you to get a brief overview, either new or used, both of how things are coming into the system and how often they're selling.
Additionally, from the invoice screen, you can see this information for used by hitting control+y and scanning an item. This can be used for determining if you're quickly turning around an item that's being traded in.
