Greetings!

This past month, we've released a number of updates to the software, including adding support for the AEC database for AEC customers and the release of the customer display program.  We have a number of other upcoming improvements to the software that we're announcing for the near future, including support for a commonly requested device for remote scanning for physical inventorying.
Trade Shows - Past and Future

Thank you to all of our customers who stopped to see us at the ICRS in Denver this past month!  The show was a huge success, and to the new customers from it, we look forward to working with you.

This month, we'll be at the Video Buyer's Group meetings in Minneapolis on August 12th and 13th.
Hand-held Inventory Batch Scanner

As mentioned above, support is going in in August for the CipherLab 8000 series batch scanner.  This device will allow you to scan multiple items into the hand-held, then upload the batch of items into the POS, allowing you to speed up your inventory process.  Larger stores can use multiple units to take inventories far faster than working at a single terminal.

Later this year, support will be going in to allow this device to be used for purchase ordering and receiving, as well as vendor returns.

The unit will run $599.99 normally, but for the month of August we'll be selling them at the introductory price of $499.99.  Customers will need to be supported or to get supported to get the necessary upgrades to the software for the device once they are available.
Song Titles

This feature allows you to set a list of contents on an item; while originally designed for song titles on albums, it can work equally well for short stories within collections or video games within collections.

Customers interested in the Extreme Customer Display application should contact sales.  Version 2.06.0029 or later of ExtremePOS, Musicware, or Praiz is required, as is a second monitor.

AEC Customers with the database desiring integration with the POS should contact Support; this requires that you be on version 2.06.0029 or later.  If you are an AEC customer but do not have the database, contact your AEC account rep for information on obtaining it.

Upcoming in August, we'll be releasing support for the STL and Anchor databases for our bookstore customers, in addition to the other features covered in this newsletter.

For customers on an update plan, the most recent version of the software is 2.06.0029.
