Greetings!

Are you spending too much time manually typing in your inventory?  Do you need help with pricing items?  In this issue, we're going to go over the various vendor databases that work with ExtremePOS, Musicware, and Praiz.  Additionally, we'll show you how to put return policies and other information on your receipts.  Finally, we've also got a deal on receipt rolls by the case.

We are introducing new pricing on additional workstations effective June 1st, 2009.  For details, see the article below.
Vendor Databases

There are five vendor databases that can be integrated into ExtremePOS systems.  In this issue, we're going to discuss the contents of each of them briefly; next month, we'll be going over the various ways they can be used within the system.

The VPD database is currently free to all supported ExtremePOS users.  This database contains video games and DVD movies, mostly those either currently in print, recently out of print, or coming soon.  The VPD database contains new pricing at MSRP levels.

The BRE database is a subscription service purchased through ExtremePOS; $100 per month or $1000 per year.  This is a special edition of the database that works with ExtremePOS.  It contains video games dating back to the NES era.  The BRE database gives you used pricing, trade in pricing, and trade in for cash pricing for both complete (with box and manual) games and incomplete games.

Ingram's Companion® is a third party subscription, obtainable through Ingram, that contains the books that Ingram distributes.  It can also be used as an aid in online ordering through Ingram.  For information on costs for this, contact Ingram.  Companion® is a registered trademark of Ingram Book Group.

Bowker's Books In Print® ON DISC contains general in print books, and is also a third party subscription service.  It can be obtained in CD or DVD form from Bowker.  We support all of the Books In Print® ON DISC products, including foreign editions.  Books In Print® is a registered trademark of R.R. Bowker, LLC.

The Superfile database, from SuperD, is another third party subscription database.  It contains CDs, and has around 650,000 records.  This database only consists of in print and available CDs, and can provide initial suggested new pricing in addition to helping with data entry.
General Invoice Notes

One feature of the system you may not know about is the general invoice notes option.  Found under the view menu on the main invoice screen, general invoice notes allow you up to ten lines at the bottom of each of your receipts to put information.  This is a great place to put return policies, specials, or anything else you want your customers to see.
Price Change for Additional Workstation Licenses

Effective June 1st, 2009 our price for additional workstation licenses is increasing from $500 per station to $750 per station.  This is for ExtremePOS, Musicware, and Praiz.  We will honor quotes given until the expiration date on the quote.

If you want to purchase an additional workstation at the current price, you have through the end of May to do so.
Receipt Roll Special

For the month of May, cases of receipt rolls are $99.99 plus shipping - a third off from the normal price of $149.50.  You may also want to check your supply of labels, as we've had a rash of people ordering them for next day, spending as much on shipping as on the labels.  Labels are normally $17.99 per roll for 2x1 inch white, or $14.99 per roll if you buy them by the case (12 rolls per case).
In our most recent updates, we've added an alternate label design for the Samsung label printer, support for printing different numbers of receipts for credit transactions, and the ability to do negative invoice discounts.

For customers on an update plan, the most recent version of the software is 2.06.0026.
