Greetings!
Your point of sale system is integral to your business, and you need to keep it in good shape. In this issue, we are going to go over some basics of computer security, the latest advances in ExtremePOS, and a deal new customers won't want to miss out on.

Is Your Data Safe?
We've had a distinct rise in the number of customers needing to reformat or replace computers due to viruses and spyware in recent months. Especially for retailers using their system for processing credit cards, keeping a secure computing environment is key. There are a few core rules to follow:
1. Limit employee browsing and especially software installation. Employees frequently will neglectfully compromise your system by going to inappropriate or malicious sites.
2. Keep your operating system and your programs up to date. Many of the most vulnerable programs - Windows, Adobe Flash, etc. - offer automatic updates. These should be kept on.
3. Keep a good security package running. We use Norton Internet Security here at the office; there are several other reputable and prominent programs, such as AVG or McAfee. These will help guard against threats.
Following these steps won't give 100% protection from threats, but they will help prevent the majority of problems. However, you should always make certain to actively backup your database and your hard drives. We offer a device, Rebit, that can automatically backup your hard drive during idle periods on your PC. Using this or a similar procedure can save you a big headache if your machine should have problems.

Tutorial Videos
We've begun to put a series of tutorial videos on YouTube, to assist our current customers as well as easily demonstrate some capabilities of the program to our existing customers. You can view all currently available videos at: ExtremePOS | |
Touchcomputer Bundle
We recently were able to acquire a limited number of Sharp touch computers at a discount, and we're looking to pass those savings on to customers while we can. You can get our standard bundle (viewable here) with a Sharp UPV9900 All-in-one in place of the standard computer and monitor at the same price, $3499. That's a single server station license of ExtremePOS, Praiz, or Musicware, the UPV9900, a Samsung label printer and receipt printer, a barcode scanner, a cash drawer, and 90 days phone support and updates for $3499, plus shipping. As the UP-9900 alone normally retails for $1799, this is quite a deal, and we can only make it available so long as our supply of these units lasts. |

We've added inventory export support for another online marketplace, Playswitch. Supported customers who are interested in taking advantage of this feature, contact support.
For customers on an update plan, the most recent version of the software is 2.06.0019.
