Greetings!

As the summer months approach, are you doing all you can to attract attention from vacationing students and tourists?  Consider advertising at local pools and promotions designed to draw traffic into your store.

Would you like that in used?
One feature in the POS software products that you may not know about is the option to prompt suggesting a used product when you are selling a new product for which the used is in stock.  In order to enable this option, go under the Tools menu to Used/Trade In Options, then check the box beside Suggest Used Items when Available.  Save the options.  This feature can both save your customer money and increase your margin - a win-win!

Updating
If you are on a support plan, you are entitled to software updates.  But how do you get them?  Follow the steps below:
  1. Make certain all stations are currently closed and no transactions are rolling.
  2. Go into Maintenance Manager.  Under the Tools menu, go to options and then Change Support Username/Password.  Verify that these are correct.
  3. Under the Tools menu, select Download Updates and follow the on-screen prompts until the update is done or you establish that one is not needed.
  4. Exit Maintenance Manager and enter your main POS software.  Log in, and then under the Tools menu select Download Updates.  Once again, follow the on-screen prompts, and then you're updated!
UPSes and You
What can a UPS do for you?  Not the delivery company - an uninterruptable power supply.  These devices, meant to provide power in the event of an outage, allow you time to process any outstanding tickets and shut down your system safely without losing information.  Just plug them in and plug the devices you need into the UPS.  These are available at any home electronics or office supply store; owing to the fairly low cost and high weight, it's usually best to get them locally.  However, in a badly timed power outage, it can be worth its weight in gold!
Used Max
This feature allows you to set an amount of used product that is the maximum you would like to have.  If a trade in will put you above the max number set in this field, which is on the inventory screen under the rental/used tab, then you will be prompted to see if you would like to go over your set maximum.

For supported customers, the most recent version is 2.05.0044.

Version 2.05.0046 is scheduled to release next week; this update will include, among other things, support for multiple credit cards on a single transaction.
