British progressive band of the early '70s, the STRAWBS differed from their compatriots -- principally in that their sound originated in English folk music, rather than rock. Founded in 1967 as a bluegrass-based trio called the Strawberry Hill Boys by singer/guitarist Dave Cousins, the group at that time consisted of Cousins, guitarist/singer Tony Hooper, and mandolinist Arthur Phillips, who was replaced in 1968 by Ron Chesterman on bass. That same year, the group -- now rechristened the Strawbs, and doing repertory well beyond the bounds of bluegrass music. 2008 saw the original lineup from the Hero and Heroine era returning to the studio to record The Broken Hearted Bride, a return-to-form effort that solidified the band's staying power. RANDY ROBBINS is an emerging acoustic folk-rock singer/songwriter whose beautifully-crafted original songs carry the essence and heart of the 1960s. When Randy shares his music, listeners know they're experiencing something special. He is often referred to by fans as, "The reincarnation of John Lennon" not only for his uncanny physical resemblance to the legendary Beatle, but because of his gifted song-writing ability and uplifting live performances that have been winning the hearts of audiences throughout the Metrowest area of Boston, Rhode Island, and beyond. In 2009, Randy received two music award nominations in Limelight Magazine's Reader's Poll: "Male Vocalist of the Year" and "Best New Indie Album by a Solo Act" for his newly released "Shades of Red" CD.

What's New?
On July 30, 2010, SHOWCASE LIVE and SKYWORKS PRODUCTIONS presented an all-out rockin' blues concert at Showcase Live featuring Gregg Allman's son Devon and his band Honeytribe with the authentic Allman Brothers tribute band, The Peacheaters as the opening act.
The night was full of surprises as teen female guitarist and prodigy, Desiree Bassett joined The Peacheaters on stage for "Whippin' Post", and later accompanied Devon Allman during "Heaven Has No Mercy", an original from Devon's first album.
At one point during the song, Devon and Desiree began a dueling guitar match. Desiree's amazing lead guitar licks and right-on rhythm wowed the audience and sent the house into a roaring and cheering frenzy each time she took the stage.
