Lauren Levine, Registered Yoga Trainer, Owner, Good Life Yoga
Q. Can yoga help me lose weight?
A. Absolutely! Doing yoga regularly (at least once a week) will help tone, lengthen and strengthen muscles while also improving metal health, which can lead to improvement in body image. One will first loose weight by practicing the movements in a vinyasa or flow fashion. This sort of movement increases heart rate and brings the practice to a more cardiovascular level. Eventually the postures and movements will train the muscles to hug the bone, which will sculpt the body and help in the maintenance of a slimmer physique. Yoga is an excellent way to introduce exercise to the body but also a phenomenal means to keep up an already healthy figure.
Ed Regensburg, Licensed Art Psychotherapist
Q. Is Art Psychotherapy only for kids with special needs?
A. Art Psychotherapy is not just for kids with special needs. It is a service for anyone seeking effective counseling/therapy. It provides the opportunity to release everyday stressors such as frustration in an enjoyable way. The "artwork" that is created, which has nothing to do with talent or how "good it is," provides a tangible "mirror" of the client's emotions and beyond. Working with a licensed art psychotherapist, the client is able to identify and understand the feelings and issues that are "captured" in the art, which leads to building insights into issues and behaviors, healing, and personal growth.
