DISASTER IN THE GULF TELETHON

ON LARRY KING LIVE
TONIGHT

Telethon Pic
CNN will host a telethon on Larry King Live tonight from 8-10 p.m in support of recovery in the Gulf Coast.  The program will repeat 12-2 a.m.  Viewers will have the opportunity to give to three areas of need: 1. people (through United Way Worldwide), 2. animals (through National Wildlife Federation) and 3. environment (throughThe Nature Conservancy).  Funds that are given to United Way will be channeled to the United Way Oil Spill Assistance Regional Fund.  This fund has been created by the leadership of United Way Worldwide for the Greater New Orleans Area and supported by United Ways along the Gulf from Florida to Louisiana.
The oil spill devastating the U.S. coastline has created major disruption in the lives of people in the Gulf Coast areas, even as they still struggle to recover from the 2005 hurricanes.

The United Way Gulf Recovery Fund will provide emergency assistance, such as help with food, rent and utilities, and support long-term recovery efforts to rebuild lives devastated by the disaster by addressing educational, financial and health-related challenges. In addition, funds will enable all who need help, or want to volunteer help, to have an easy, single point of contact by dialing 2-1-1.

If you would like to write a check, please make it out to United Way and mail it to:
