The
New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO) is the oldest
statewide organization dedicated to the success of NJ women business
owners. The organization's mission is to address the challenges unique
to women business owners, provide the tools necessary for business
success for both seasoned women-owned businesses and aspiring women
entrepreneurs, serve as the voice of women-owned businesses in the
legislature, and encourage leadership in the business community.
Since
its founding in 1978, the organization has grown to almost 1,000
members with 12 chapters across the state. The Bergen Chapter, started
in 1983, has almost 150 members. Classes, seminars and informational
events are offered to members and aspiring entrepreneurs through NJAWBO
and NJAWBO's Women's Business Center.
