On January 4, 2011, the Governors Task Force on Higher Education released a report recommending sweeping changes to higher education in the New Jersey including merging some parts of UMDNJ with Rutgers University. While supporting many of the report's recommendations, UMDNJ President William F. SN HOLDS FIRST PINNING CEREMONY
The School of Nursing held its first stand-alone pinning ceremony on December 16, 2010 at the Oral Health Pavilion, Newark in recognition of the 50-member accelerated BSN Class of January 2011.
Students voted for one of their classmates, Tara Olivo-Moore, to present "Reflections of a Future Nurse." Professor Sharon Anderson, 2010 Teaching Excellence Award recipient, also presented remarks.
