Annual Conference challenge
Karla Kurtz and Karen Drake came back from Annual Conference with the Rev. Drew Dyson's words on their hearts:
"What's your missional imagination like? What would it take to make today the best day ever for somebody in a world that desperately needs to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ?"
There's more to Youth Assembly than playing pool and eating ice cream ... although that's a good start. Last week, more than 150 youth gathered at Tennessee Wesleyan College for the annual family event.
Beginning July 18, the denomination will be focused on jurisdictional conferences, where new bishops will be elected in three jurisdictions. In the Southeastern Jurisdiction, five new bishops will be chosen to replace five retiring bishops, Holston will be assigned a new bishop during the July 18-20 meeting at Lake Junaluska.
