| Salt Water's high-end experience redefines casino dining |
2008 Free Press Restaurant of the Year by Sylvia Rector - Detroit Free Press |
|
With its beautifully refined contemporary American cuisine, its polished and intelligent service, and its serenely elegant interior, it transcends its casino setting.
Chosen as the 2008 Detroit Free Press Restaurant of the Year, SaltWater is first and foremost an exceptional addition to the metro area dining scene. But it also stands out for another reason: It proved that a high-end restaurant in a Detroit casino can be among the best in the city. Step into the inviting entrance, past a distinctive contemporary sculpture of undersea creatures, and you're struck first by its exceptionally beautiful and romantic room.
But dine there and the thing you'll remember most -- the real reason SaltWater is Restaurant of the Year -- is its refined, intensely flavorful food.

| City ranks high for lofts |
| Detroit News Briefs
by Detroit Free Press |
Detroit is one of the top five loft cities in the United States, according to Lofts, a new national magazine.
The city is ranked No. 5, after New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Portland, Ore.
"It took some time until the vision was realized, but today, a loft scene is booming across Detroit's neighborhoods from downtown to Corktown. Detroit has retained its gutsy, hard-edged vibe, while at the same time, supporting mall businesses and a fine arts culture that rivals the nation's great cities," the magazine crows. |
