Other countries have their own unique celebrations such as the "Roasted Pig Parade" in San Juan, Philippines. At this festival they roast a whole pig, dress it up in a uniform and then parade it through the streets in an open truck. Revelers squirt the uniformed, roasted pigs with water! A very bizarre celebration! Thankfully, our festivals are much more appealing in southeast South Dakota!

The Festive month of September

has arrived! Festival means "a celebration for a specific occasion or joyous diversion." We have a lot to celebrate in southeast South Dakota! Throughout the month of September, Southeast South Dakota is "living it up" with many enjoyable and unique festivals. Many of these festive events involve delicious treats such as kuchen, ribs, and fine wine! Indulge yourself with one of our "joyous diversions" in the southeast.
