July 4th - Home for the Holiday!
We all have our favorite vacation spots around the country. The beach, mountains or the northwoods. When it comes to July 4th though, it seems that many prefer to be at home, grilling, going to the local parade and fireworks display, spending time with family and friends. It's a hometown holiday.
If you are finding yourself at home but wanting to get away for the day, there are literally dozens of nearby hometown celebrations for July 4th. The listing of events at the bottom of the newsletter will give you some great ideas for finding that celebration right in your own backyard.
The hot days of summer go quickly so get off the couch and head outside for some sunshine and family fun.

                                                                    - Jacquie, Executive Director

  Email Marketing to Visitors
We are sending a bi-monthly newsletter to visitors who have opted-in to receive email from us. The newsletter includes vacation packages and features member businesses. Each newsletter features events and on-line vacation packages.
If you want your business included in this email newsletter, consider creating a packaged vacation or weekend getaway. Each offering must include a lodging property with an attraction or event. Packages are listed free on our website and we choose from those packages what will be featured in the E-newsletter. There is also a link to all packages.
We are giving visitors ideas for creating their own unique vacation. The email list continues to grow so we reach more visitors with each E-newsletter. Contact the SSDTA office to see how you can be part of this on-line marketing effort.

WILDE PRAIRIE WINERY - BRANDON, SD is a family farm located just west of beautiful
Wilde Family
Wilde Family
Splitrock Creek on wonderful rolling hills perfect for growing grapes. We produce many fun wines, among them our Dandelion Wine. This year was a bumper crop as you have probably noticed with all the patches of yellow all over the state.
The winery is run by Jeff, Victoria, Sarah, Chris, and Pam Wilde along with the help of many friends. They have been making wine for 12 years and became South Dakota's 9th farm winery in July 2004. Their first vines were planted in 1997 and we now have 1300 vines.
The Wildes grow several varieties of grapes as well as rhubarb, dandelions and have recently planted bushes and trees that will produce great new wines in the future.
They are always looking for South Dakota grown fruit from which we create our wines.
Enjoy a sip of the country.
Winery hours are Noon to 5:00pm Friday-Saturday other times by appointment.

Take HWY 11 north from Brandon 2 miles then go west 1-1/2 miles on 259th Street.
