Treasury Awards $142 million at ICNC

ICNC was happy to host a U.S. Treasury event in which the Director of the CDFI fund, U.S. Senator Dick Durbin and Congressman Danny Davis announced a nationwide round of awards totaling $142 million for 155 Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) serving struggling communities across the country. Awards included $4.5 million for three CDFIs in Chicago, including $1.5 million for the Chicago Community Development Loan Fund. These grants represent the largest single round of monetary awards in the CDFI Fund's history, and will help those financial institutions spur local economic growth and recovery, as well as expand access to affordable financial products and services. Prior to the ceremony, the officials toured ICNC's 410,000 SF incubator building, visiting two emerging start-up companies.
