A thank you is in order to all of those who helped with the
recent Pinon Canyon Preservation Festival.
The PCEOC greatly enjoyed the opportunity to visit with all of you who
were able to attend the event. For those
who weren't able to attend, the PCEOC will have a booth at the Colorado State
Fair in Pueblo. Please stop by, say hello, and pick up some
information. As the general election
approaches we encourage everyone to contact the candidates, ask about their
position on the proposed expansion of Pinon Canyon,
and encourage the candidate to take a firm no-expansion position. Regarding the recent primary election, there
is one very notable bit of good news - Scott McInnis was defeated. The PCEOC is, and has been, willing to work
with any politician from any political party.
However, McInnis picked a fight with Southeastern
Colorado very early in his campaign, he openly advocated for
nationalizing 100K - 1.6 million acres.
He claimed to be pro-private sector and pro-agriculture, but had no
qualms about sacrificing Southeastern Colorado to the Federal Government for
the debatable prospect of 'economic progress' in other areas of the state. This, along with his plagiarized water
papers, sealed his fate.
