RE-
DEFINING GLAMOUR

According to Simon Doonan, "glamour" is that mysterious, shimmering you-know-it-when-you-see-it quality that surrounds those who stand out from the crowd. Eccentric glamour is the new glamour, the well-chosen style costants which are the basic elements of your personal identity.

Unaffected by flicking trends or the whims of fashion, style constants are unique gestures which fan and friends will associate with you and remain glamourous through time.

In order to reinvent oneself like, Madonna in her 50's, you must hold an enormous drive and passion for life but most of all you must keep up your ambition and desire to receive.

McDonalds understands the importance of luxury in branding when they open their redesigned flagship restaurant in London with art on their walls and upscale fabrics.

If your desire is to be a life enhancer, one of those fabulous people in the world, you need a good, strong and viable concept. Based on Simon's definition of Euro-Glam, Gypsies, Existentialists and Socialites, this month I have picked several interesting personalities and influentials in different fields who discuss their views on reinventing life, style and modern living.

I have learned that...
You must keep a bit of the ethereal and be free-spirited like Yasmina and Marco Guerra in their One Thousand and One Dreams.

A man should look slightly severe and a little dramatic like Sam Fogarino.

You must not forget to keep radiating the old-school glamour of being slightly bitchy but elegantly demanding like Nota Bene Travel Chairman, Anthony Lasseman, and his concept of how hotel service should be.

Finally...
Dress in Ikats to breathe les "Senteurs D'Ailleurs"  and like Donatella Verasce says, "wear what you wear to achieve what you wish in life. And after all...what is it that you wish in life?

A  perfect piece of paradise--but please, make it eccentricly glamorous.

One Thousand and One Dreams Tantra

Last year at this time, I was preparing to take a trip to Andalusia, Spain. When suddenly I came across a blog talking about the spiritual importance of water in the Islamic architecture of the Alhambra. In the same blog, I saw a picture that made a huge emotional impact on me.

  Eccentric Glamour

I love Simon Doonan. I really do. He is a creative genius, high-spirited, writes humorously and wikedly well. But, I am sorry, his latest book Eccentric Glamour is a guide for American-women-only.

This is How a Man Should Look

Vertical FarmsStraight men with inherent style are indeed a rare breed. So much so that others question their straightness if they look too good. Any man who likes ladies and can rock a super-slim Dior Homme suit and doesn't compete with the girlfriend for mirror time is pretty much a character from a fairly tale.
