The Big Red Army Presents the 2009 Season Kick Off Party at Cadillac Ranch

This FREE event will include activities both on the Tempe Marketplace Plaza as well as inside Cadillac Ranch and 25% of proceeds will benefit the Tempe Community Council. Cards fans can enjoy live bands on the District Stage, take photos with Cardinals players, Big Red and the Arizona Cardinals Cheerleaders, partake in the pep rally at 6 p.m. and join in the fun with kids activities, including face painting, balloon artists, a Quarterback Challenge and inflatable bouncers. Inside Cadillac Ranch, Big Red Army members and non-members alike can enter a bull riding contest as well as a raffle for great prizes, including sports memorabilia, a flat screen TV, a trip to the Cardinals vs. Seahawks game, a Cardinals slot machine and more. Summer Fun Ends with Back to School Bash at Recess Kids Club
To keep the summer fun going despite the heat, the kids' entertainment mecca and short-term childcare center Recess Kids Club, located in the Dana Park Village Square in Mesa, will be themed "Farm Animals" in July with a fully decorated facility where kids can enjoy fun themed activities, foods and field trips.
July's "Farm Animal" theme will make Recess resemble a farm, complete with hay and a barn where kids can watch movies like Babe, fresh farm foods, play pin the tail on the donkey and enjoy farm themed arts and crafts.
To keep the momentum going and welcome the new school year Recess Kids Club will also be having an Open House Back to School Bash on Saturday, August 1 that is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. The event will include food, drinks, vendor booths and activities for every member of the family.

1st Annual Alumni Classic Basketball Game Brings ASU
& U of A to US Airways 
On Sunday, August 30 at 12 p.m. the biggest rivals in Arizona, Arizona State University and the University of Arizona, will have the ultimate rematch in the 1st Annual Alumni Classic Basketball Game at US Airways Center in downtown Phoenix. Bringing alumni and former athletes from both universities together, the teams will square off in what is sure to be the biggest game of the year. Fans are encouraged to wear their school colors and cheer on the Sun Devils and Wildcats, as they fight for new bragging rights. The first 1500 fans will also receive a gift bag along with a free ticket to an upcoming Phoenix Mercury game. Various players will also be available for a post-game autograph signing. The teams will be comprised of some of the most memorable athletes to ever play at both universities. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go towards Neutral Zones of America (NZA) to help establish an after-school program in South Phoenix as well as support an endowment for former student-athletes from both universities to return to school and complete their degree. | Actor's Youth Theatre Offers Fun for Valley Youth
It is time for parents to start making plans for their kids summer schedules and Actor's Youth Theatre is here to help. AYT will offer a variety of summer workshops for Valley youth ranging in age from 5 to 18 years old.
The summer workshop series includes a variety of opportunities for young performers to learn the basics of dance, theatre and musical theatre. Each session will be designed for specific age groups throughout the summer depending on the current workshop and will focus on teaching and enhancing performance arts skills.
