Greetings!
Continuing with the different rate types in Lodgical, we'd like to show you how you can set up rack rates.
In order to set up rack rates, you will have to go to Utilities, Configuration, Rates, Rack Rates. |

General Tab
In this General tab, you are able to specify your rates for additional adults and children. Most of the time, weekends are considered to be Friday and Saturday nights. However, if you needed to, you could switch it to Saturday/Sunday, Thur/Fri/Sat, or Thur/Fri/Sat/Sun.
By clicking on the Discounts button, you are able enter percentage discounts that you apply to reservations throughout the year. When assigning rack rates to a reservation, you will be given the choice of which discount you would like to apply. |

Rate Assignment
By entering the same letters into units with the same rates, you will be able to set rates for multiple units at once.

Rates
Choose the rate letter you wish to edit first. To enter rates, click the Add New button toward the bottom of the window.
Note: To edit rates, give us a call and we'll walk you through editing specific rates.
When entering rates for the first time, it is important that you enter your rates in chronological order. Not doing so may result in loss of data.
After clicking the Add New button, you will be presented with a window similar to the above. Start by choosing a beginning and ending date for your rates. Rack Rates allow you to enter two different rates.
After entering the rate information, click Save Rate.

Remove Rack Rates
If you no longer use rack rates, you can Delete the rates by clicking on this button.
Note: Please make sure you want to delete them before clicking on this button. There is no undo button.

Apply to a Reservation
When assigning rates to a reservation, click on the Rack Rates option. You are given this window. Choose your discount percentage and place a check in the box if you would like to Use Rack Rate Two.

Rate View
With the newest version of Lodgical, you will have a Rate View tab when on the chart screen.
This is a quick way to quote rates over the phone and to check to make sure they are set up correctly. Simply move to the date desired and look at the corresponding unit type. This rate will also adjust automatically to the number of adults and children. Located just above the unit types list, you can easily change the numbers depending on how many people the rate is quoted for.
Please note that this rate view works for multiple rate choices. If you have more than one set up, only one will be displayed. The rate type displayed is located just above the unit types list. The order of display goes as follows:
- Yield Managed Rates
- Rate Table
- Rack Rates
