Greetings!

Welcome to this weeks edition of our news letter.  I will be discussing backups and how easy and important they are.  It is very important to do regular backups to prevent the loss of your data.  Software can be reinstalled but data can be lost forever.  There are various reasons for data loss, machine breakdown, virus, power outage, fire and common computer error.  By backing up you will provide yourself protection.
How To
 Backup Button
Lodgical makes backing up your data as easy as 1-2-3.

1:  Click the Back-Up button (pictured)

2:  Select where you want to backup your information:

A:  Removable Drive (such as Flash/Jump drive or floppy disk)
B:  FTP Server (a secured off-site server)
C:  Both Removable Drive & FTP Server
D:  Internal
3:  Press the OK button.
Which one do I choose?

We especially suggest that, if you have a high-speed internet connection, that you do your back-ups to the secured FTP server.  Being able to backup to the FTP server is now Included with your annual support.  Your data will be saved off-site in a secured place.  If you are unable to backup to the FTP server, please give us a call @ 920.746.0606 and we will get you set up.

However, we never discourage backing up to multiple medias.  For Instance, if you prefer to have keep a copy on your flash drive at home, you can backup to your flash drive and the FTP server for dual protection.

During a support call we may suggest performing an internal backup before making any changes to Lodgical.  This is the fastest, but doesn't protect in case of a computer crash.
In short, we hope you find it easy to perform backups.  Hopefully you're able to take advantage of our services by putting our backup to our secured server.  Not having enough backups is a bad thing, but having too many backups can never be too safe.

Sincerely,
