EWA Seeks FCC Clarification On TETRA Waiver
EWA filed comments with the FCC on May 26 in response to the Commission's recent rule waiver which would permit the deployment of Terrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA) technology in the 450-470 MHz Industrial/Business band with the yet to be explained rationale that such systems "would not likely cause increased interference to adjacent channels users," and therefore would not require prior frequency coordination if the only change to an existing authorization was to reflect the TETRA emission. EWA Establishes Endowed Scholarship
The EWA-Joseph B. Vestal Endowed Scholarship has been established at Old Dominion University (ODU) in Norfolk, Virginia, which will award financial aid to full time ODU students enrolled in Electrical Engineering Technology or Information Systems Management studies who intend to pursue a professional career in wireless applications or telecommunications. Wider Channel Bandwidths for Broadband
In additional actions to expand broadband service, the FCC has proposed changing the out-of-band emission limits for mobile Broadband Radio Service (BRS) and Educational Broadband Service (EBS) devices operating in the 2496-2690 MHz band (2.5 GHz). MORE
