Changes to Medicaid and CHP+ Mean More Families Eligible
On May 1, 2010 important changes to Colorado's Family Medicaid and Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) programs went into effect.  These changes mean that more children and families are now eligible for the state's health insurance programs.

Family Medicaid is the state's health insurance for low-income families.  CHP+ provides low-cost health and dental insurance to children and pregnant women in families who earn too much to join Medicaid, but not enough to afford private insurance.  CHP+ pays for many health care services for children including well-child check ups, immunizations (shots), doctor visits, medications, mental health services, vision, and dental care.  Well-child check ups are free for children enrolled in CHP+.  Pregnant women are also eligible for benefits under CHP+, and all prenatal care visits are free for women enrolled in the CHP+ Prenatal Care Program.

Parenting Place is proud to provide Application Assistance for the Family Medicaid and CHP+ Programs.  If you or a family you know does not have health insurance, or is struggling with the cost of health care, please call Karen at 303.449.0177 x.8.
