The Institute of Licensing welcomes the Metropolitan Police

The Institute of Licensing is delighted to welcome the Metropolitan Police who have joined as Organisation members.

They join other police forces already members of the Institute including:

  • Greater Manchester
  • Devon & Cornwall
  • Thames Valley
  • Avon & Somerset
  • North Wales

Institute Chairman, Philip Kolvin QC said:
'I am delighted that the Metropolitan Police has seen fit to join our Institute. Not only is this an important symbolic step for our cross-sector organisation, but we can look forward to Metropolitan Police members increasingly bringing their own important perspective to bear on the thinking of our membership and the development of their understanding. We hope that in the year to come we will see other forces following suit'.

Metropolitan Police Licensing Policy Manager, Ian Graham said:
'The Metropolitan Police Service believe that joining the Institute of Licensing will prove an important step in fostering an improved understanding of the issues that face licensing professionals and we hope that our knowledge and expertise will likewise benefit other members'.

The Institute of Licensing is the professional body for all practitioners in the field of licensing, including trade bodies, trade representatives, private legal practitioners, licence consultancies, local authorities, police and other regulatory and trade bodies.

Looking to the future - enhancing member benefits
  Changes to Licensing Flashes planned for 2010 change ahead

The Institute is set to change the level of access to information on the website in order to enhance existing membership benefits.

Licensing Flashes will remain the same, but the detailed articles, news stories and related documents held on the Institute's website will be restricted to Institute members and accessed via member log in.

The changes are likely to be implemented in April 2010.

  • Training will be provided by Poppleston Allen Solicitors:
    Both courses are residential course, and delegates may opt to attend single days or all three days on either course, both with or without accommodation

    This is a 3 day course finishing with an exam on Day 3.

    Costs are detailed on website and depend on the days/ accommodation booked
