The Better Regulation agenda is transforming the way in which licensing services are delivered - from taking account of the economic impact of burdens on business to enabling the electronic acceptance of applications.
In this important series of conferences the Institute of Licensing has brought together key components of the new regulatory landscape, specifically designed to answer the questions that this theme raises. |

Better regulation in the south-west The South West Regulators' Forum is taking the co- ordination agenda forward with funding from the Local Better Regulation Office, including work on a multi agency county-wide alcohol harm reduction strategy.
Led by the primary care trust, this includes the local licensing teams as key players. Come and hear how to implement similar activities in your own local area.
Better regulation in the south-east
Anthony Garnett is the licensing manager for Sevenoaks district council.
His presentation at these conferences will look at best working practice, as identified by the Better Regulation Office, which will save huge sums of money through shared services, and change the way licensing practitioners work in the future with national accounts, and regional responsibility.
He will be showing the results of three years practical work to get to this stage, of developing best practice in shared services, partnership working and execution.
