Now you can think of Dunkin' Donuts as offering healthy fast food! How did we initially hear about it? Through the wildly popular Hungry Girl website (www.hungry-girl.com), which we read every single day. Here's what Will Kussell, President and Chief Brand Officer of Dunkin' Donuts Worldwide, had to say: "We identified the Hungry Girl website more than a year ago, and realized that it was influential and important." And here's what Hungry Girl's founder, Lisa Lillien, says about the new DDSmart products: "I LOVED the new Dunkin' Donuts egg-white flatbread sandwiches. They're filling and DELICIOUS. And they definitely give you a lot of bang for the calorie buck. They're a nice alternative to fatty fast-food sandwiches." The DDSmart line must meet at least one of the following criteria: 25% fewer calories, 25% less sugar, fat, saturated fat or sodium that comparable fare, and/or contain ingredients that are nutritionally beneficial. Included are: Dunkin' Donuts famous coffees, lattes and espressos, which can be enjoyed for 70 calories or less when using skim milk and a sugar substitute A refreshing Reduced Calorie Berry Smoothie, made with real fruit and lowfat yogurt, which has 30% fewer calories and nearly 40% less sugar than a regular Dunkin' Donuts smoothie Freshly brewed unsweetened ice tea - a small cup is only five calories. Egg-and-cheese, or Ham, Egg and Cheese sandwiches served on an English muffin at 350 calories or less. "These new food items have been very well-received," says Mr. Kussell. Well done, Dunkin'!
